Please note: Due to overwhelming demand on-line registration for the Young Workers' School is now closed. For questions regarding registration, to ask if a space has opened up, please email Angela at aboscariol@bcfed.ca.
Each year the BCFED hosts the Young Workers' School at Camp Jubilee. The school is set in a retreat-like environment. Participants will attend courses to help them build skills related to the labour movement and political action. There will be outdoor activities and a chance to meet other young workers from around the province.
Dates
The 2019 Young Workers' School will be held June 14-16 at Camp Jubilee in the Indian Arm.
Participants
The school is open to young workers 30 and under. Participants must be affiliates of the BC Federation of Labour or invited guests through our sponsorship program. If you know a non-unionized worker or member of a community group who would benefit from attending the Young Workers' School, please contact Denise at dmoffatt@bcfed.ca.
Fees
The registration fee is $375. This includes bus transportation from Lonsdale Quay, boat transport to Camp Jubilee, meals, courses, activities and accommodation. The registration fee does not include transportation to Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver.
Cancellation policy
If you need to cancel your registration, please do so before noon on Thursday, May 30th. A $50 processing fee will be charged. We unfortunately cannot offer refunds after May 30th as we must pay in full.
Departure:
Please note: Due to changes by the City of North Vancouver, we will now depart from Cates Park. Overnight parking is not available, therefore we encourage all participants to use the charter bus transportation from Lonsdale Quay. The bus will be waiting near the Tap and Barrel restaurant and depart at 2:30 pm.
If you choose not to take bus transportation, then you must arrange for someone to pick you up and drop you off at Cates Park.
